Die Frage nach dem Ausgangspunkt seiner Bearbeitungen erläutert Bork wie folgt: „Was spricht mich an dem Erscheinungsbild des jeweiligen Tieres an? Fell, Federn, Augen, …? Diese dominierenden Aspekte übertrug ich mit dem elektronischen Pinsel in die Bildbereiche, die vormals den Hintergrund bildeten. Dadurch erweitert sich die Wahrnehmung, das Tier nimmt den kompletten Raum auf dem Foto ein und gleichzeitig entsteht eine Verfremdung, weil nun die Abgrenzung zwischen dem Tier und dem umgebenden Raum wegfällt oder zumindest verwischt wird.“

Die eingesetzte Technik kann am ehesten als „inhaltsbasiertes Retuschieren“ bezeichnet werden. Während beim Retuschieren in der Regel etwas weggenommen oder ausgebessert wird, ersetzt Bork beim inhaltsbasierten Retuschieren Teile des Hintergrunds durch Elemente, die im Vordergrund prägend vorhanden sind. Dadurch erweitert sich das ursprüngliche Erscheinungsbild, bis hin zu surrealen Visualisierungen.
